Sunshine, heated blanket, kitty, coffee, prayer, and books. I may never get off this couch again.
Granted, this is not a normal Monday morning (see last Monday’s post). So, I am thankful for an extra day of rest. This moment, I am relaxing and soaking in the sounds of the clock ticking, laundry whirring, and kitty purring.
And I remember that as peaceful as this is, it is not perfect rest. Time is passing; laundry will need folding; Kitty will need combing. I still make a practice of hygge, but in Jesus, even on my busy days, I have true rest.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
