The Hope of Christmas

This verse came to mind last night on the ride home from our church’s hope-filled and worshipful Christmas Eve service.
It seems that the enemy has stolen so much this year… joy, hope, peace, health, family, even life.
And- unpopular opinion – that is something that won’t magically get better with the end of 2020.
The enemy was stealing joy, hope, peace, and life the night Christ was born two millennia ago.
But that’s why Christ came. To call sinners – to call us – from the darkness of sin, evil, and death to the light of truth, righteousness, and eternal life. Without Him, there is no hope of salvation. And He’s coming again to vanquish sin and death forever.
Even in the midst of all that is going on, the “Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it”. He is the Hope that lasts through the ages. Christ came that we may have life and have it abundantly.
Merry Christmas! 🎄
