Trouble is guaranteed in this life, but what a comfort that we need not go through this life without the peace of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He made a way for the disciples’ peace, speaking purposefully to them, and so He speaks purposefully to us through His Scripture. Even in the midst of trouble and great grief, the time and testimony of fellow believers prove that the peace of Christ emboldens Christians to take heart and even sing. Perhaps that is one reason I love both of these songs so much. ‘It is Well’ is one of the songs I would play for my grandma while she lay in bed with cancer. This song was born out of comfort in grief and has in turn comforted so many like me. The second song, ‘Christ the Sure and Steady Anchor’ speaks of the hope He gives in salvation. We hope as those who already know the answer, yes, He has, and, yes, He will.

Flower Songs
They grow around the homes of all the land Silent music! Daffodils, roses that stand Like pink sweet girls--music to see The growing of beautiful melody! Flowers are the music of the ground From earth's lips spoken without sound; Flowers are as music, silent, deep Oxlyps, marigolds, music men keep In pots and vases, beds… Continue reading Flower Songs

Saturday Song: We have a most glorious King
We have a most glorious King; The heavens, He says, are His throne; All worlds are His mighty domain, All kingdoms His scepter shall own. He dwells with His people below, He loves in their trials to share; We dwell with the King for His work, His burden we willingly bear. I'm dwelling with Jesus… Continue reading Saturday Song: We have a most glorious King

Sunday Song: Jesus Paid It All (Medley)
The Scroll and the Lamb Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. Sunday Song: Great is Thy Faithfulness
New morning. New mercies. Steadfast, faithful, unchanging God. But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope… Continue reading Sunday Song: Great is Thy Faithfulness

Sunday Song: How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
In this morning's sermon, my pastor encouraged us that it is natural to believe that God does not love us, but that it is the work of the Holy Spirit's work in the believers' heart that gives assurance of God's love. God is love. We love because He first loved us. God will never stop… Continue reading Sunday Song: How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
